There鈥檚 great excitement at Beeston Fields Primary & Nursery School as Ofsted inspectors say evidence gathered during their recent interim inspection (section 8) suggests the 鈥楪ood鈥� school could be graded 鈥極utstanding鈥� should a full inspection (section 5) take place now.

Inspectors described Beeston Fields Primary & Nursery as an 鈥榠nclusive school where pupils feel safe and happy鈥�, going on to say, 鈥楶upils are polite and kind. They say that there is no bullying.鈥�

The school, based on Boundary Road in Beeston was found to have a 鈥榟ighly ambitious curriculum for all pupils鈥� and that 鈥榚xcellent behaviour and attitudes to learning mean that pupils across the school achieve well.鈥�

Inspectors praise staff for effective behaviour management strategies and go on to say, 鈥楾eaching staff have expert subject knowledge. They communicate their knowledge clearly and model tasks carefully. Pupils remember what they have learned and explain their ideas with confidence.鈥�
Provision for pupils鈥� wider development is described as 鈥榓 strength of the school鈥�.

Children told inspectors they are proud to attend Beeston Fields, which in addition to its ambitious curriculum offers wide ranging enrichment activities including debating club, boxing and chess clubs, and where children are able to make positive contributions to the environment.

In early years, the report says children are well provided for, saying 鈥榟igh expectations mean that children have a solid foundation to build on as they start school.鈥�

Inspectors write that very strong pastoral support is in place for those pupils exhibiting the greatest need. 鈥楢ll pupils, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), are found to be both challenged, and supported to achieve highly鈥� and that, 鈥楾he support for pupils with SEND, including some pupils who have a high level of need, is exemplary.鈥�

Leadership and the workplace is praised within the report, stating, 鈥楽taff appreciate leaders鈥� consideration of their well-being. They value the support given to their professional development. Morale is high. Staff hold leaders in very high regard.鈥�

Headteacher, Angela Huthart, said she is pleased with the report and credits the whole school community with its positive outcome. 鈥淭he staff and governors of Beeston Fields are delighted that the work of the school has been recognised so positively. In particular, we are pleased that the inspector acknowledged the inclusive nature of the school, the high standards achieved, the ambition of the curriculum and the expertise of the staff.
